Haro Group 1 racebike project.
Jon The Bassist:
F & F only needs a polish. I doubt I'll use the cranks as they're very short and I used 180s BiTD (175s would probably be okay). I might keep the wheels (with the new school tyres on) for general use/commuting in the dryer months and get some better wheels for racing. I've got some Haro pads on the way also. I really need to ride the thing before I decide exactly what I'm doing with it!
magna13:
I'd go for 175's :daumenhoch: and stick with NS tyres if you really wanna rack up points in racing, i noticed with older tyres they dont seem to grip aswell in my opinion :-\ and wheels will be a big advantage aswell!
20to26:
that'll do nicely eh!
Seatpost looks a bit bent - don't get it jammed in the seat tube - they're a blighter to get out...
Jon The Bassist:
Yeah, the seatpost is slightly bent but it dropped into the seattube very easily. I'm not sure I'd want to race with a seat that far back anyway - but would be okay for commuting etc. I used Elina and Uni all-in-ones BiTD set down low.
Jon The Bassist:
I've been up to my elbows in Autosol for the last few days :LolLolLolLol:
Big thanks to ACE CYCLES in Harrogate for supplying cheap cables etc and a couple of little freebies :daumenhoch:
I've not managed to straighten the seatpost, so I'll have to see if I'm okay with the seat at it's current height as it won't go any lower.
I got another old bike that I'm using as a donor bike - I'll be nicking the alloy wheels, copy comp 3s, and drivetrain (decent 1 piece cromo 175s, pedals, spider, 44T chainring) from that bike. I might keep the other bike as a rider for the missus.
More pics soon hopefully.
