Dying A'ME Grips?

I bought a set of grips which I thought were black, turns out they're dark purple. :(
Is it possible to dye them black at all?

I have never had any problems dying AME grips, there earlier ones anyway. Never done the newer type.
Boil the water, pop in the dye add some salt and boil/simmer until you're happy with the depth of the black.
Simple, Bob's you're Uncle and Fanny's you're Aunt :daumenhoch:
