anyone had black chrome done

I had a Hatta MX2 chrome headset black chromed. It was a special process and the guy was able to do it because he still had some of the chrome mix left from another job.
It's quite pricey - he told me it wasn't great for anything but a show bike as the black chrome isn't as protective as normal chrome.
However, it looks superb. Kind of has a purple tinge to it under certain lights and looks nothing like paint/powder. Also, it won't chip and I found it a very durable finish.

i'v got a painted frame that im thinking of having done ,,,so its a strip polish ,,then black chrome jobby ,,,,,,,,,,,mind you at £350 ,,,im wondering if its worth it :-\
you dont see many survivor black chrome gt's around do you ::)

well i got the seat post, bars, and forks just need to find the frame now, have seen a few in the states, they go for £450 to £800 ish
