cork method

had too look twice,mis read the title first time round.  the cork idea is a good un.

ozone:
Would be great on radial spoked rims but it would be a bit of a pain on a 4-cross pattern - that said maybe 75% of the length of a spoke is uncrossed so you could do the majority of the wheel with your cork. :-\ 

The only way I could ever get in those tight angles where the spokes cross was by pulling a thin strip of cloth back and forth.
