New Seat on Old Post - Will it Fit?
« on: March 31, 2010, 09:06 PM »
I've got a really nice new school saddle which takes a micro adjustment type seat post.

I want to keep the saddle for my old school build as I think it will look good. The question is, if I get an old school post (22.2mm) with a micro adjuster, will the old school adjuster accept the new school saddle, or are the guts a different size as well as the post diameter? :-\

Should be cool, I've used a Shadow crow seat on an old chrome post with built in guts :)

Not sure if this answers the question or not, but I have a fly new school seat on a Haro micro adjust post, it was a right git to get on. But its okay  :daumenhoch:

Just measured a couple of mid school saddles and a beserker. They all measure about 44mm across the rails. The rails are 7mm diameter approx, rails may be fatter on a new school!

I'm going to measure up some standard OS guts against the NS seat. If they line up then I'm going to take a punt and get a micro adjustable OS post.

It will fit, Track Bikes tend to have a narrower gap between the rails (no idea why, just the way it is I guess), BMX has been pretty standard for years  :daumenhoch:
