Coaster brake.

Morning peeps.
Bit of help please.Does anyone no if you can remove a coaster brake from a coaster rear skyway wheel.
And if you cant were do you bolt the arm to on a '85 haro sport like the ones that biagio is sellig.

yes, you can remove it. the whole hub. if the sport doesnt have a coaster bracket, use an mx hinged seat clamp, on the chainstay.

i stripped out the brake mech on a coaster wheel i had, to make it a freehub. still have to anchor the arm though

In the 80s I bought a coaster hub and ran it without probs for a couple of Summers. Getting the old metal hub out was easy, I just ground the tops off the rivets or whatever they were.
The hub didn't come with replacement bolts, though. Near the bike shop was a nuts & bolts outlet, luckily enough. The guy there looked at what I wanted and sold me a length of threaded rod and some nylock nuts. Worked fine for me.

Ideally, are you looking for a coaster brake, a free coaster or a freewheel???
Didn't we all used to call 'em back pedal brakes BITD? Or was that just me? :laugh:
