no salt needed with this dye, either that or i misread the instructions!!i think this dye has salt in the mix already, thats what it says on the packet(i hope) anyways i just filled the kettle right to max then boiled it,then stuck the boiled water into a medium size saucepan followed by the dye then the grips ,.then left to simmer on a really really low heat for 1hr and 15 mins, with occasionally topping the water back up from the kettle as when it evaporates from the pan the grips start poking out!!!after that i put them in cold water for a minute to seal in the dye, peice of cake!!!! the down side tho is ive now got one knackered saucepan,a stained sink, stained hands and worktops!!!!the grips cost me £3 from gaybay, the repairs to fixtures and fittings will be way more!! :LolLolLolLol:

:LolLolLolLol:
They came out well ;)

top result.
i best get some more dye and try mine again then.
i tipped loads of salt in when i done mine and it never took at all.
i'll try your route then and see how they go.

lol will do.
i might give the grips a boil up on there own first too as mine seemed a bit hard.
might soften em up and dye take better.
