DC 1000s
« on: July 19, 2010, 10:12 PM »
Hello folks. I have a set of dc1000 and well they are original and off my old bike and kinda used. I was wondering if it was worth refurbing them and thoughts on making them white again or anodising them. Next up is new chrome on the rickman f&f.

mx 1000 are well worth restoring, they fetch good money,£100 + for a rear in minty condition or at least £40 for a beat up one.if the anos shot then stick it in oven pride which will remove the ano then a quick polish with autosol will give you a minty silver caliper :daumenhoch:

the white ones are painted so the oven pride wont work. you can strip it with paint stripper like nitomors and then polish it.  :daumenhoch:

your best bet is to strip and polish if the original finish is shot!

no one will redo the anno for you and spraying is difficult because of the quick release (it cannot be removed and refitted like it was originally).

this is one i stripped and polished.

did not want mirror polish finish - just clean and usable.
