Help on cleaning Skyways

(1/3) > >>

Nosnod:
Right guys, got some yellow tuffs that have got dirt and grime really ingrained into them.
Tried soap filled brillo pads and wet n' dry sandpaper but it's not really shifting it. :(
Was going to possibly try and soak them in bleach but a bit worried that they might lighten them rather than clean!!??
Any other tips???

sam hudson:
If you soaked them in bleach for a couple of weeks you could always re-dye them afterwards. You have to scrub and scrub and scrub like a MO FO to get them clean with brillo but it DOES work.
I bleached my white tuffs for 3 weeks and it cleaned them very nicely.Re-dye them.
Oh  and if you bleach them, you will have to polish up the hubs afterwards if they are alloy versions.

Superkav:
Here's the state of my yellow Tuffs when I got them

After bleaching (paler than it appears in the pic) but clean as a whistle

The one in the back has been bleached only, the one in the front has been bleached and dyed.

If you smother the alloy hub in grease before bleaching they don't go black.

Dubs:
what sort of dye do you guys use !?

got these to clean up -

harris:
