Any one tried dying lavander z rims?

Beetroot:
got 4 which are starting to go a bit faded , if i was to dye them do i have to strip them down before i dye em , cheers guys?

harris:
a good clean wouldnt do any harm if they are to smooth the colour seems to struggle to penetrate
very light wet n dry all over, if used with black marks on rim i use the edge of stanley blade .
