replace a stem shaft

anyone know if it's possible or is there someone that can do it. i have an old haro stem that i snapped about 18 years ago leaving about 1/4 inch sticking out, i then decided to weld a bolt onto the rest of the shaft and use it as a gearshift on my mk1 fiesta at the time :daumenhoch:

somebody like sawzall or animal is ya men for owt like that i'd have though.

cheers, i'll give them a shout if i can't do it myself. i'm gonna try some heat and a big hammer first. :D
