it looks like its a 280 then coz the gusset is oval not round. al let torker phil know about the chrome'rs in leigh, wigan, bolton, swinton, worsley. ;D thanks for the help so far. does anyone have any piccys of a stock one back in the day ? :daumenhoch:

It can stil be a 280 or 280X being Oval gusseted ,
the difference is ONLY the length of the top tubes the 280X is an inch longer at 18.5 :)
Round gusset denotes 280 or 280X produced up to 1983 ;)
