Halfords Turbo x26 CRUISER survivor, needs bit of resto....pic heavy
aerostylie:
Hi folks
First off massive massive thanks to rad member Eamonn for the tip off, what a geezer :4_17_5: So much for me not buying anything else!!
Have been toying with a cruiser size ride but never committed and this popped up , not an ebay sale but local paper advert. The only things that appear to be non original are the levers and rear brake and possibly the gear shifter on the bars. It certainly needs a clean up as been left outside, the seat post is stuck rigid and had no seat...the pics tell the story! Paintwork, decals, tyres, wheels, pedals, crank, bars appear to be all original and the price paid....£30.
I have never seen one of these before (did own a Halfords Turbo 20x bitd) however would a cruiser have a sturmeyarcher set up?. Plan to change a few components like adding sm grips, mx1000 brakes,sx pedals and use as a summer cruiser.
Please let us know what you think as would be really interested to hear if you would classify this as a cruiser...... or a pos ;D This is how i got it today:

I remember them, probably after the same market as the Raleigh bomber in the early eighties, and when the BMX fad kicked off they were re dressed with BMX stickers to make them cool, bit of a hybrid really isn't it, good for £30 though, you'd probably get that back if you weighed it in!!!

Good clean and a bit of fettling and you could have a good we bike to run about on. :daumenhoch:
