Im not 100% sure but you might be able to get a special crank pulling tool (your lbs might have one) that would get that off no probs.

I know they they are available for new cranks but just not sure if they'd work on an os crank like that.

Look something like this,

Good luck! ;)

Yeah you need an crank arm extraction tool. Think you can get them on ebay or chain reaction. Make sure you get the right size though there are a few that fit different size spindles.

Alloy (crank arm) to steel (BB spindle) fuses really easy after time and dampness

Not as bad as  the old alloy seatpost stuck in the steel frame ploy , due to less contact area   ;)

An extractor like Xgoose says would easy do the trick

never used an extractor - just a nice peice of wood (used as a drive near to the nut end of the crank) and a wood mallet..

Works everytime - well so far anyway!

Sid.

I was whacking the fcuk out of it with an 8lb sledge hammer against a piece of wood in the end and it was not moving an millimetre....I stopped as I thought I might damage the frame :D

Heat...Alloy expands quicker than steel. Boiling water then crank extractor or neandatholstick and piece of wood  :daumenhoch:

Do not hit it with stuff jase , use the proper tool for the job . Invest in a crank puller but take it easy as alloy threads strip soooo easy, wind it in all the way then put some tention on it and pop it on the radiator . If it won't budge sent it tup north and we will hit it with a proper northern monkey wrench .

Ive just brought a crank puller from Halfords for £9.99 . Needed to put an extension pole on the end of it though to tighten it more as i couldn't get enough force from the thing . Does work though and only a tenner.

Use the right tool for the job - trouble is I can never find anything when I need to and I tend to use my knockommeter..

I often find that hitting it 'on' first works (taps - not extreme force), like tightening a stuck nut will haveten free it (I slight nip, not a full turn) , rather than trying to lossen it  etc - but what works for one  :-X
