:uglystupid2: I'm sure it wasn't this frustrating 30 years ago.............  :tickedoff: Why the feck am I getting a mega tight and slack spot in the chain?? Everything seems nice & smooth until I fit the chain then it seems to end up running like a bag of nails................

sid1972:
new chain?

what crank set up are you using?

whats the alignment look like?

hunterdubber:
Chain device pressed the pin in too tight and you haven't flexxed it side ways to free it ?

Bent Chain ring ?

And poor alignment Chainring bent it towards crank arm where the bolt that fixes it to the arm

Wrong top hat washer

BENDYCAT ELEVENTEEN:
one thing that drives me mad every single ride is a slack then tight chain as you turn the crank  >:(

this to take  into account

chain has a tight link or split link not running smooth over the freewheel

chain ring in not in center by a couple of mills and throwing it out

freewheel is not centred and has a couple of mill to one side throwing it off

one piece crank is slightly off in line when bb nuts ar done up - screw thread throwing it out as the turning circle dips on one end

i just don't know what it is and it drive me mad as F'ing well

cheers B  ;)

Andy68:
Cheers chaps........I'll check alignment etc 2moz when I've calmed down and have another look. '83 GT, Sugino 1 piece crank, mirage disc and Pete's Precision sprocket, Ukai with Dicta freewheel and Izumi chain. Must say the chain looks mega close to the seat stay too...........
