Advice? Removing rust from chrome Araya wheels
oldtired:
no, there's problem if there ally , steel is fine in oxalic acid but if you get the solution wrong with ally parts it will just eat em, leave em pitted at the the very least, only use it as a cleaning solution on ally and tbh there are better methods that don't involve acids , just polish will do :daumenhoch: tbh i've never seen a steel araya post up some pics , :daumenhoch:

Had a quik look, pealed the old araya sticker off and it says CMC underneath it? If they are steel can I dunk them in the oxy complete as they are? with the spokes and hubs on? thx for the advice so far :)
oldtired:
might be wrong should have a letter m in a circle maybe on the rim as well? unsure about the nips probably brass never, dipped any brass in oxy so might be best to test one in the solution first should be ok but :-\ ? if the hubs are steel they will be fine, spokes should be ok too, again best test a spoke first , just be sure that they are steel parts before you go ahead :daumenhoch: shame they're not araya's, don't think there's many about?
Mattdub:
Any CMC rims I've seen are steel ;)
john4130:
try a magnet against them, if it sticks it's steel.
