Spoke lengths . . .
The VW Doc:
Hi all - I have a bit of a problem and I hope you guys and girls can help me out.
I stripped a pair of original Weinmann rims, with Sturmy Archer hubs (from a Mk1 Raleigh Super Burner - The gold coloured one) down at the weekend with a view to refurbishing them.
Due to the ammount of corossion all the spokes either were or did bend very badly or snapped off (either at the nipple, or between 2-3" up from the nipple) leaving me with a load of uslelss spokes that I cant guarantee to get an accurate measure of to allow me to replace them.
Would anyone know for sure how long the spokes need to be so I can order up some replacements?
Pleas help!
MartyC:
Are they a large flange or small flange hub?
Munnyella:
You may find this info on burnerworld, I think they have a tech data section.
dirtskirt:
For a 3 cross pattern with low flange hubs you need 194mm or if they are high flange (prob not) then you will need 183mm for a 3 cross pattern..
The VW Doc:
Cheers guys!
I am pretty sure the are small flange hubs
I have cropped out a photo of a (pre assembled) wheel and the hub so you can see
194mm sounds like what it is then :)
