Peugeot CPX 500 - Work In Progress

It's doing my head in ;D

It was one of those 'unexpected builds' which no doubt should probably be expected.
Third Tange bought, first one built and it's not even for me, it's for the misses. It's all gone horribly wrong somewhere
 :idiot2:

Got to love her, after looking at the Kuwie ET poster for a while she goes 'can you explain something to me, what's going on here?' - pointing to the 1PC.
I thought YES she's finally been worn down so I decided to do this for her with the simple view of self preservation for the future
 ;D ;)

Anyway this is it: 1982 Peugeot CPX 500 with Tange Mangaloy Tubes.
Limited run, available for one year with this boomerang style gusset (from 1983 it had the Peugeot logo on the head-tube gusset).
Euro BB is unique to this model but it's similar in geometry to the Tange Hattori Pro Sight made for the Australian market.

It had a decent factory spec made up of Jap parts: Tange, Takagi, Nitto, Araya.
Although it's a custom build I've tired to keep it Jap flavoured. Built with restored OG / Mint & NOS Parts.

A massive thanks goes out to Woody for keeping me in the loop and helping with the deal on this :4_17_5:
Top pic is how it arrived but surprisingly it was in pretty good shape. Extremely clean drop-outs and that finish under the red anno
There's a few signs of wear & tear and some kid somewhere in Europe scratched his postcode on the seat tube.
I guess it must have been loved by someone. I must admit I've developed a bit of a soft spot for it - maybe the misses doesn't really need it.

I'll try to get some updated pics done today but I'm still waiting on a few parts to finish it.
Pedals and tyres are on the way so I'll just be needing a chain and valve caps :)

Oh yeah and some Black or Silver Takagi Crank Caps - If anyone can help :daumenhoch:

Took some pics today from the sunny spot in the 'tree house' ::)
The red in the decals and post is essentially a nod to it's original colour scheme. The peds will be NOS Gold MKS BM-10 (it originally came with MKS 7/10 not sure which).
Still work in progress but I'm happy with it so far - can't wait to see what the new tyres look like.
