What headset do i need to use with a DK headlock ????
southern andy:
I've got a nice DK Headlock which i'd like to use rather than sell/store it but i'm struggling to find a headset with has a flat bit so the lock fits flush.
As you can see from these two headsets here they both seem to have a fixed bolt to them which then causes the problem.
The DK headlock has it's own thread which screws on to the fork thread.
looks like this which doesn't work.
Help :)
Glynnyboy:
The early basic tange ones that appeared on the Raleigh burners are what you need.
Give butts a pm on BW chances are he will have some rechromed ones available.

It looks like your lock would replace the existing washer and top nut on one of these nicely.
southern andy:
Cheers Glynn,
so removing the top nut and washer, the remaining parts of the headset would be completely flat so my H/L above would sit on there perfectly ?????
What about the GT Epoch ?????
brummie:
does the the dk headlock not just replace the nut?
southern andy:
yes Dave mate but as you can see in the bottom picture it sits proud rather than flat to the top of the headset, this is because picture 4 has the raised teeth bit. If they weren't there it would work. sadly that actual headset needs that bit hence why i need a flat one.
