Have I shagged my Kashi?

Ooops..  My Kashi restore is not going too well:

Rubbed out all the scratches with some 180 paper and it actually looks pretty good apart from the powdery/patchy appearance.  Despite this, I dyed it anyway hoping it would still come good but, it looks pretty much the same as before dying..

Any tips would be very appreciated..

thanks,

Paul

Dylon Ocean Blue.  I added about 400g of salt, in boiling water (on a plastic bowl so could not maintain the heat).  Left it for a good 1.5+ hours.

Ta,

Paul

It looks like the dye you've used is of a lower pigment than the original seat colour. Did it change colour at all?

motomagII:
rit dye instead of dylon and tad darker colour at a guess
