i wonder if you tried dying them blue they would come out green or dying them red you may get orange.

I reckon red would get red, and you can always go to black if it's a fail.

BENDYCAT ELEVENTEEN:
bleach them first for a week - rotate overturn

you can see if they turn red - leave for more than 8 hours with rotate overturn

and as JT says if it all goes pete tong then you can dye black  ;)
