Indeed, I'd probably pull at the belt a little too.  ;D

finally got round to getting this rim finished. next i need to do the hub then mould them both so i can cast a few and start lacing up wheels!!!

So i turned the rim on the lathe. In this pic i'm using a blade to try and guage what the radius looks like so i can match it when i turn it around.

Then I put it on the milling machine and used the dividing head to drill 32 holes. If it had been a 36 spoke wheel then i could've drilled a hole every ten degrees but as it was a 32 spoke wheel I had to do a hole every 11.25 degrees... annoying!

In this pic you can see a couple of straight holes, the big hole is for the valve and the one with the detail has had the little tube that i cnc'd pushed into it.

I turned a channel in the back so there's room for the spoke nipples and stuff, then the tubes could be pushed in from the back and glued.

Heres the little tubes.

All done.

And with some primer on it, I'm pretty pleased with how it turned out. It looks really crisp and sharp to should look amazing when painted silver with decals!

Heres the real thing for reference.
