ACS Z Rim restoration
rad_pitt:
Hey chaps,
Picked up a pair of tatty white Mike Buff zeddies before Christmas. Over the last couple of weeks i've set about restoring them.
This is how I got them - a nice shade of brown:
Then meticulously sanded the arse out of it in various grades of wet and dry, before dunking it in bleach for a week. It came out pretty well, as white as I'll get it anyway:
I picked up some stencils from 41thirty.com (if anyone has a lone stencil, could you throw it my way please?):
Applied the stencils and masked the rim off for spraying - gave it two coats:
Left it to dry for a few hours, and it came out pretty well I think. After seeing Adams NOS zeddies which were aligned to the valve cap, I thought I'd do mine the same:
I took one stencil off too soon after, and fooked it on the rear, so if anyone has a spare stencil, give us a shout ::) :LolLolLolLol:

Looking very sweet there and i bet in the hand they look great close up
it's amazing to see what they looked like before all dirty and scuffed - they they turn up a cool white and smooth
interesting to see what stencils look like when done - are you going to ride them ?
Top Work ;)
i did a set or AKGoff /Adam on RAD a little while ago - it was great to see them come up so white after working on them - then i had to put decals on and it brought them to life
rad_pitt:
Yours look superb B  I'll get some pics in the daylight and show the comparison. I fancied doing something different so opted for the stencil. Look pretty good up close.
BENDYCAT ELEVENTEEN:
so can you ride on them ? will it smudge or just wear down ?
I have my own black set to sort out - would like to ride them but this is the first time i have seen stencils and what they are like
rad_pitt:
My guess is that it will smudge. I may end up riding these by the end of the summer, so I'll let you know ;)
