As we are doing the London to Brighton ride later this year, link here http://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/team/BW-RadBMX-4-Childrenwithcancer HINT SPONSOR US.......... :LolLolLolLol:
I was wondering if those who had done it before on BMX, or anyone who does long distances on their sprint machines, what gearing is best. I'm going to be using a Robbo Amtrac and currently have it tuned with 44/16, now is it worth chomping that up to 46/16? Or any other combo of craziness? :buck2:
pickle:
Should be fine mate but i had 45/16 as that's what was on my bike of choice at the time.
Jon The Bassist:
Yes, something like 46/16 would be good for general road riding, maybe a 45 if you have big hills.
I commute on a 26" cruiser up some big hills and I currently use 39/18 on that bike which is like 45/16 on a 20" bike.
MaD-RoK:
From what I hear the bigger hills get walked up, so I might invest in a 46 toother as a more general beasty. Cheers dudes. :daumenhoch:
On another note, anyone recomend any good slicks as tyres for road use?
john4130:
animal asm tyres are slicks, i use one on the rear at 100psi.
