Gearing Q:
BENDYCAT ELEVENTEEN:
Just having a look at some of the bits i have for a build and have a snow flake chain ring of 44t which i want to use and also found a suntour 17t = now is that gonna make me pedal like a Muppet
i try and run a 44/16 and find it good - then on another ride i have and that is 40/16 harder to keep up but great for a quick burst of speed - rides alright
so where will the 44/17 sit ?
cheers B ;)

Harder to pedal than 40/16 not as hard as 44/16.

Dr Jon in the house.
Your 44/17 will feel slightly higher than the 40/16, more like a 41/16.
If you're gonna ride this much get a 16 tooth freewheel :daumenhoch:
BENDYCAT ELEVENTEEN:
Cheers guys - it's going on a Team goose i'm doing and the old snow flake is some thing i want to keep - the suntour is a spare sitting around - the bike will most likely only be ridden on such things like one london ride and a couple of shows ~ so i guess if it is sitting in the middle it should be alright
the 40/16 on the london ride on the silverfox was alright but better for cutting down the streets and not long roads
well if nothing comes up i will try it ;D
cheers B ;)
