what is bent
selfpreservation:
what is most likely to bend my alloy cranks aor the spindle they are on? , they are takagi tourney at first i thought it was the arms but now i reckon its the spindle
duncan:
Might be a silly question but are you sure the arms are seated on the spindle correctly, I mean tightened up straight? If not, it can feel like something's bent.
I'm guessing these cranks sit on a square tapered spindle.
Turn the bike over and you might be able to tell if it's a bent spindle when you rotate the cranks.
Might even be a bent pedal axle, if you think something feels wrong when you're riding. You could try another set if you have any spare.
selfpreservation:
i reckon there bent theyre tight as fook and seem bent in all planes ie theyre not at 180 deg to each other nor do the pedals sit on a true horizontal plane the problem appeared when i jumped a set of steps only about 4 foot or so , didnt even land hard , im about 13 stone and a bit though do you think thats extreme abuse ? thought theyed take a bit more punishment than that myself it was my first time riding on them , at first i thought it was the arms that were twisted but now it seems like the spndle havent thaken them off yet but ordered a new spindle to give that a go
Bren Gunn:
13st will kill them, they are/were for kids... fling them and get a one piece.
Bren
selfpreservation:
