Today I bought, or it got delivered, or I fitted...
Taipan:
nice looking bags but I'd never put a decent bike in there going thru and airport :-\ my mates a baggage handler at heathrow and that looks well flingable!
kalex:
Sorry to say but I think I've got more chance of winning the lottery (and I don't actually do it ) than that bike surviving in a airport.
It looks spot on for personal use of carrying a bike about but I wouldn't trust others handling it
hotdog:
I'd definately be putting a custom-fit cardboard box inside your bike bag plus plenty of bubble wrap to boot.
Quadog:
I will definitely pack them out with some bubble wrap the last few times both my bikes got a few scratches and chips but it was well worth it to spend a week cruising to beach .Altough I must admit it was nerve racking waiting at carousel .
Drawn:
Guess it comes down to what you're willing to accept in the end.
Recently bought the Odyssey bag (also had a DK one for the other bike) and used that fly the bike from the East to West of Aus for racing with not one bit of damage. Then back home again.
Normally have an extra blanket or so on in them so parts don't rub on each other and then whatever clothes are needed give it a little extra padding (the Odyssey one they are separated form the bike so no getting dirty.
Not sure if over there, but ours all go through the oversized section rather than all the conveyor belts for normal luggage.
