Yeah now I can see why the dude bought a Canyon and immediately removed that seat. God, it is truly awful. I barely even managed a 20 second test sit to see if it was the correct height.
Any way, I also bought some new riding shoes. These have two stipulations. One, flat. Pedals hate things like Yeezy Boost. Two, grippy. Shins hate pedal bodies lmao.
I looked in the usual places and was coming in around £60. This is about normal but I am a tight ass. So, I decided to go off piste and went to TK Maxx. I sas some I liked the look of. Didn't look very closely as they met the two stipulations, so I ordered them, having never heard of them before.

Just to verify.

So I then went looking for them on Youtube. I found them. Apparently they were a big Brazilian based skate shoe company who just went bust. I also verified that yeah, that was the RRP. I can now see why. Check this out.

They are absolutely gorgeous. I also did not have to order them in a nasty gaudy colour to save the money either

OK so with shoes sorted (my Vans are now 9 years old and tatty and my Doomed are wrecked) I moved onto buying the final boss saddle. Went away from brands like Selle Italia and etc. IE, the razor blade makers. I then bought this. Selle Royal gel Ti.

Cost me 43 quid. Does have Ti rails, but will still be heavy. That said I am now too old to ride around on blades. The extra 300g or so will be well worth it

Next up one extremely expensive helmet. Mine is now 12 years old and whilst never bashed or crashed I ain't stupid. Foam and etc has a shelf life and you should never chance it on things that save your life. It's also another area I will never skimp on given it could literally mean your life. I currently have a Bontrager and it too was pretty expensive. I would rather put my life on something I know will perform, rather than a Chinese risk.
