Your build philosophies

To be honest my when I get round to building a bike, it has been thought out in lots of detail for a long time.

I am building a bike now that I have been waiting for over 5 years, I had some of the parts as I knew the year I was looking for, so did a lot of research into the parts needed.

As for starting points, well I look at things (for example) like Comp III's, MX1000's, Kashimax Aero's and make sure that I go absoultely near those parts, there are/were much better tyres, brakes and seats bitd.

I started a Patterson pr200 build before i had the f+f :D,bought a yellow kashi mx first,ironically its the part im not happy with :LolLolLolLol:,need a blue one :(

Started a JMC build,looked though the parts i had,loads of black n silver parts,not used this colour scheme on other bikes,so went with that :daumenhoch:

 colour scheme,thats my biggest problem,once thats sorted them rest is easier :)

No real philosophy but all my builds have to be era correct, for now Im trying to complete the vintage SE collection before starting all the others. Obviously I'm an SE fan so I'm aiming to build as many bikes as I can that have a link to the SE brand or a link to the OM  8)

My builds are based on the main iconic bikes/brands everyone knew from BMXAction bike all between 1980 and 1984

My ambition was to have a full collection of these with the Race jerseys to match

I've now got them , just a couple of  minor tweeks  to 3 builds to complete

I've tried to make sure I have as varied a component list throughtout the builds , I don't like having exactly  the same part  on any build

Must be as era correct as possible

But I like restored , vnice survivor and NOS parts ,,, no real preference there

Only other preference is CHROME frame and forks :-\  :smitten:

(except the HLT ,E.T and Torker    :D )


Sorry Sean a few of my builds aren't painted and have the odd Kashi and MX brake here and there  :D  :LolLolLolLol:,,, but doing bikes to replia spec or magazine feature spec ,, that's just how they were sold .

I do love seeing  a rarer piece on peoples builds though ,,,any era whether it's Addicks parts ,Titron ,VG or Crupi  etc  :smitten:
