what best simulates chrome?

They are plastic, coated with a chrome finish which is now less than perfect I need to recoat them with a paint of some kind. I think machine polishing would melt the plastic, they are beyond that anyhow.

i tried the chrome spray on a set of mine that looked ok.

search you tube - i did see some good chrome spray paints that will do just the job + help how to do right  ;)
