looks like a re-chrome to me, my gen 1's chrome looks fook all like that.

Those pictures are that bad with the glare back you can't tell if it is or isn't.
I had the same problem when i took some pics of my natty and ended throwing the towel in and trying again another day.

That's been rechromed,check out the weld detail thats been polished out.
