NOS Profile Champ Mini Shelby James
AKGOFF:
Afternoon gents,
I have this NOS Profile Champ Mini Shelby James frameset which I would like to get built up soon but I'm not sure which way to go with it. It has a bit of light rust peppering (due to me dumping it in the shed for about 2 years and not wrapping it properly :idiot2:) which would probably clean off to leave an awesome original chrome finish. I prefer painted frames however so I was thinking of stripping the chrome and powdering black. I'm not building this to a Shelby James spec so it doesn't matter which option I choose but I would like your opinions on frame colour and parts colours too please, I'm a bit stuck on this one.
Thanks in advance.
Adam

I wouldn't personally strip the chrome though
Good luck

Chrome would clean up easy mate, look at my thread in tech/resto for coca cola and tin foil, then autosol (or ideally Peek) the life out of it, will come up mint. Or send to Bendy the polishing master. Don't strip it though whatever you do :)

Nice frameset Adam 8)
That frame is far too nice to strip imo , it would come up a treat with a bit of time . ( coke/ lemon juice and tin foil or an oxalic bath ;) )
Don't use Autosol on chrome , it's an abrasive ..... just use Peek or something non abrasive to polish :daumenhoch:
Blue or gold components or a mixture of the two would look nice imo :-\
