I've got a feeling that the older "2 line" format of frame numbers were frames made at GT.
I think the GT frames also tended to have tubes for the seatstay and chainstay brace, rather than one (or both) of them being plates.

stuck some pics of it on bmxmuseum and the yanks are getting all excited, i'm getting pm's saying its a 91 Mad Dog XL & also is it for sale  :)
