getting a f/forks chromed..........whats the cost?
Chromo Buzz:
Hi all,
I am looking to get my dayglo orange Master f/forks stripped & then chromed. What would be a rough price to have the powder removed, polished & then chromed?
Cheers, Buz :daumenhoch:

about £150-200, athough if the framset was originally paint/powder it will mean loads of prep polishing the tubes prior to chroming so could cost waaaaaaaaaay more.pick a decent chromer too,i recommend Allens in pocklington nr york, they actually give a toss, too many chromers dont :daumenhoch:

Cheers for the quick response Markyp ;), i did wonder as the bike has never been chromed that it would probably cost more. So i'm guessing my best bet would be to lose the powder 1st & go through the grades of polishing myself to keep the cost down.
What would be the best way to strip the powder?
Cheers, Buz :daumenhoch:

Best way 2 strip powder is a blow torch and a wire brush ;) Give ACF Howell chrome in Walsall a bell ask 4 Mark tell him I told u 2 call and talk it all through with him . Their prices r very good and they really show a good attention 2 detail . Pm me if u need more info :daumenhoch: Oh they r on the industrial fortnight at mo so give it a week eh

Cheers Animal for the advice re: removal of powder coat :daumenhoch: The blow torch seems a bit harsh though . I know fook all about paint processes, is there nothing similar to nitromors that will brake it down?
Only asking as i don't own a blow torch

P.S. Will defo give them a call in a wk or so ;)
