Ouch! Did this as a kid on gravel too and have always rode with gloves ever since, until i could afford to buy a propper pair i wore my farthers welding gloves, they were huge! Looked like some crazy power gauntlets, came of again a few weeks later in exactly the same place, hands fine and gloves dident even have a scratch. Top budegt tip for gloves people...though i do prefer my s.e/oakleys  :2funny:
