I deleted my own post as I realised that I had forgotton the golden rule ...
"Arguing on the internet is like running at the special olympics. Even if you win, you're still retarded."
..but I'll let what I said stand seeing as you have brought it back... :daumenhoch:

No Stu... I'm over rising to your comments...
You are trying to turn a light hearted thread into a 'them' and 'us' attack on me as a mod and I can't see the point... are you bored?
Anyone can say whatever they want to me, and I will say what I feel back ... mod or not... if I thought it was an issue I would resign now.

Hey Ed, i'm all for making mods, its what we did bitd so why shouldnt we now. I have had a fair bit of stick on here for a few mod ideas i have voiced but i still did them ( and they worked ;) )
Getting your thread back on track, i think it would be worth getting a bashguard fabricated based on the one you have but with a rear end more suited to the frame. Whatever bracket you come up with is going to look untidy as the chainstay brace isn't square with the chainstays. I recon getting a custom bashguard fabricated wouldn't be that expensive and you could even adapt the mounting brackets to some form of neat clamp to save drilling the frame if that bothers you at all.
If it were me i would have the guard cradle the bb and have one clamp round the down tube and a pair of clamps round the chainstays :daumenhoch:
