(1/2) > >>

dj-paul-c:
started my first wheel build tonight
ive had them built ,unbuilt  and rebuilt tonight  :tickedoff:
ive included a pic of them before resto, they are the same hubs and rims with the wheels =no change and i got correct length of spoke measured from originals to make it nice and "easy"   :idiot2:
i followed skidds guid on the sticky section
and
so far looked good but no matter where i put the leading spokes it seems it dont want to tighten up like the rest when i turn the hub clockwise (when no trailing spoke is in and i turn the hub clockwise the nipples sit in there proper position but when i put in a trailing spoke and do this there is a gap on the trailing spoke nipple of about 15mm ??
do i just need to keep building or have i done something wrong
i put the nipples on same turns on each one
before and after pics

dj-paul-c:
ive put a silver spoke (trailing spoke) in the wheels for illustration purposes (pics below)
is this in the correct place ?
if not where should it go?

is originally the wheels 3x or 4x ?

thanks for the help

stidds:
First thing is the name is stidds not skidds  :daumenhoch: ;)

Secondly the original wheels are 3x and you are lacing the new one 4x so that will make the spoke too short.  If you look at the silver spoke it goes over 3 spokes and under 1, it should go over 2 and under 1 (basically the first spoke that it crosses is the spoke head next to it).

bof:
The original wheel looks 4 cross to me.
Also i would check ,the front and back could have different spoke length. Have you took this into account.

WARDY:
Send em to Skidds he ll sort em
