PATTERSON PR200 PRO all done!!

Those of you who clocked my van either here or at mk will know ive got a bit of a thing for the Pattys.having already built an 82 long i just had to add the next gen of patterson the pr200 to my stable.The pr200 was tested in ABBMX back in the summer of 83 and with it being one of the first magazines i bought it meant that the pr200 always stuck in my mind.
                                               I had this one shipped over from the states back in april,i paid top dollar but with it being beautiful survivor chrome it was well worth it,with a bit of a tickle shes come up a treat,you just cant beat the original finish,not just because its authentic but because its so much thinner meaning you can admire all the details on the welds and also see the hoops the polishing mop left!
                                                Not long after snagging this i managed to grab a set of uber rare much discussed usa made patterson pro bars,they were on a complete which was saved from a chicago dump!!!there is alot of rumour that the patterson pro bars are identical to the early gt,WRONG!!! They are the same as the second gens,like the 84 pro series came with but they have a thinner higher cross bar.
                                               Although a beautiful and iconic bike i cant help thinking that the pr200 was almost a step backwards as far as patterson were concerned.they ditched the low sleek style of the previous generations and went for a more upright design,with gt being the builder for patty (hence the handlebars and check out the front and rear dropouts too!!) i cant help but think it was a case of just generating revenue rather than about performance,anyway enjoy!!!
