How do I remove sealed bearings from a bottom bracket?

I used the hammer and screw driver technique, and gave them a good old whack!

For future reference:
 You can cut out some rubber discs from some thick rubber sheet and place these inside the bb shell covering/protecting the bearing race/cup to be removed before you whack it ;)

Next weeks top tip:
 How to remove those pesky boxer stains when you have followed thru trying to remove rusty pedals.

sorry for being blonde but what precisley did you do as i may be changing frames soon(fingers crossed)

I slid the one piece cranks through as far as I could.  I the poked a long thin screw drive into the gap in the bottom bracket and gently tapped round the bearing until it popped out.  It was easier than I thought it would be.
