I always thought the real Woody Bars (VDC) came out in Q3 ~ Q4 1984 in the UK? Then Hutch (they still did adverts in 1986), then Diamond Back.
I also found a thread that I replied to back in 2006, (wow ) that was a while ago.

Hope this helps.

As on the advert in Feb 1985 of BMX Action Bike (PG19) for VDC Monkey Bars - @ £28.95 and Woody Itson Bars - @ £26.95
So, VDC are £2 more exspensive (over 10%).

photo of me above was 84/85 as i sold the sport f&f and got a red fst to be like brian blyther( in oct85 when i was 16 and had an endowment policy out!!!) so dont know who made them but they sure didnt say hutch on the stickers :daumenhoch:
glenboy:
whats the main visible difference for the vdc as opposed to hutch ones is the shape or the tube thickness or the crossbar position , i've noticed the crossbar can be lower or higher on some
