Hi Fellas,
Scored this of the museum for £60 all up including postage and no customs ;) Was looking for something to restore and use for a rider, so thought this would be perfect. Here are some before pics:

I read bendycats polishing chrome thread and thought I would give it ago here, but sadly the rust on this is a tad worse than surface rust :-[ I got out the oven cleaner, which was great at removing decal residue, then I got to work with the stanly knife blade, but it started to lift the chrome in places, so abandoned that idea. Then tried some coke and very fine wire wool, which proved to be a bit more succsessful, but still not great.
I did a couple of hours on it and now thought I would leave it sitting in coke for a while to see what happens. This is how I have left it for today and more pics tomorrow :daumenhoch:

Full marks for effort, but if it's lifting it may be too far gone to save sadly :'(

On the bright side though, you can always get a minty powder job on it.  :coolsmiley:

Lovely bike that is :daumenhoch: I heard that you have to strip the chrome first if your doing a powder job, is that right. Its going to be a rider and I cant do yellow or blue as I already have a yellow mach one

and a blue performer :-\ Ill se how it goes, might trade it will have to see

If it is going to be a rider , I'd be tempted to do the best u can with the chrome and just fit some nice clean parts . Will look good and you won't be to bothered flying Round on it. Love these in chrome :daumenhoch:
