But he would have to appreciate it is crap, more enjoyable than a new car, but shite in comparison.

sorry dude, i'm not having a dig whatso ever, and, on this rare occassion, i can safely say without bias that i have not missed the point.
i ride exclusively old school race legal bikes, early 90's race bikes, i would prefer to ride something a little older but all are too short or not quite geometrically evolved enough to throw about (IMO, experience) i have a n/s bike, all the bits, been sitting in the corner waiting to be built for over 14mths now, i just aint got the heart to build it as i love the bikes i ride, race n jump n dont want to make the transition to n/s. I may be wrong, but i'm pretty sure that there is only myself and dan dare who are exclusively regular o/s riders racers with no flirting with n/s bikes at all in the northern series. i have 5 fully built mid racers. all 1" threaded quilled stemmed, all caliper brakes, all soaked in VG parts (which he specifically mentions, some people have no taste :LolLolLolLol:), but i also appreciate that almost every component i love n use has been significantly improved and that from a riders point of view are crap. i am going to get the n/s bike built for this summer and i know i wont get the same buzz from riding it, as riding the older ones is totally the point in my opinion, but i know the n/s bike is gonna be far better equipped n suited for my needs.
i also have never owned a car less than 22years old,VWs, jaguars, stag, capri's, fiat x19's, scimitar, cortinas, escorts, monza, audi coupes etc, and appreciate they are all shite in comparison to better handling n more efficient newer cars, but i prefer older cars n thats it.
wasnt having a dig, aint missed the point, wasnt even my opinion, just being realistic whether I (or anyone else) likes it or not. :)

thats cool man. its good to discuss these things. i gather you ride way more than me and much better so you are probably more qualified to say what works and what does not work. i have to do most things on a budget so dont buy new top quality parts unless its for my road bike. i got a 2009 gt recently that getting pimped up. its not got an opc. how proud are you of me ? :LolLolLolLol: :daumenhoch:

No, Im not missing the point. I have a shed full of old crap that I totally love. One of the bikes even has a OPC. Its crap ;).
All those bikes stay in the shed. Not cos they are MINT or NOS, but cos they are crap to ride. But I still love them all :smitten:
