Sawzall shows Hutch Expert who's the expert
emerbmx:
Phil recently helped me restore a Hutch I picked up here. I'd seen many Sawzall posts featuring wizard like craftsmanship, but it was only when this returned I began to realise how Phil earned his legendary status.
The frame originally had a seat post well and truly stuck, and any attempt to twist it out, was shredding it to pieces.
The brake bridge had a section cut out and was cracked.
I originally asked if it was possible to remove the post, and roughly patch weld the bridge in exchange for some forks.
Phil removed the post using a combination of drilling and dissolving, and replaced the brake bridge.
On top of that- He also volunteered to stirip the 5 layers of paint off, levelled out the little dents and chips, and primered it.
He did a sterling job and now it looks like freakin' new!
Thanks Phil, Free t-shirt on the way to you mate!
I'm glad Phil Sawzall's work is no where near as shoddy as my headline.
