Pedal Bearings Size?

Does anyone know the correct size for pedal bearings? I'm trying to repair some old Maxy Cross pedals.

I bought some 5/32" headset bearings in cages that will probably do, it's just the old bearings look ever so slightly bigger.
If there is a 6/32" size (or 3/16") then maybe that's what I need. Can't find this size in local bikeshops though.

How do the sizes work, because another size up (I think they were 7/32") were way too big, they almost seem to double in size for each 1/32 increment.
This leads me to believe I'm probably stuck with using the headset bearings.

Thanks, I'll see if there's a supplier.
I was told I can damage the cones/cups if I use the wrong size.
They're old pedals and the parts already have a lot of wear,  but I'm as well to get the right size if possible.

I just replaced the bearing in my shimano DX pedals and these were

3.969 MM ( 5/32" ) DIAMETER

Couldn't contain myself, and just built one up using the 5/32" bearings from a headset race.
There were 22 bearings in the race, same as the number in a pedal which is fortunate.

I could have got another bearing in each side, so maybe they are a tad small but I think they'll do fine.
When I got the pedals they were rusted solid, good to see them spinning now.

What bikes did Maxy pedals come on? MK1 Burners?

I just realised, the bearings are probably the right size, it's the cups that will be worn down.
