Anyone still use Royal Mail?
holwuff:
Cool! Cheers for your help guys!
It's defiantly easier for me to pop into a post office, I work in Dorset county hospital and we aren't supposed to get couriers in for personals! I had Jessie's mini burner delivered to work and got a right bollocking!
Plus the post office near work is next to the bun shop! :daumenhoch:

I sold them NOS yellow Tuff's on the bay mate as they were too nice for me to ride and the temptation to ride them was getting extreme :crazy2: so they had to I'm afraid.
They were steel hubbed and coaster rear so were quite heavy. I boxed them to pretty much tight in the box, well wrapped and added brake pads too. The box I used was a thick USPS one.
Total postage cost, insured for £500, signed for delivery, 3 working days was just under £20 mate. That was with Prcelforce.
I don't think thats half bad to be honest.
I know it can be cheaper with hermes etc etc but, for the kind of shit threaders is going through, Parcelforce or Royal Mail for me all the time at the moment.
It helps too that I have a small independent PO near me, not the big ones that need more dosh to pay their staff so I get the best deals on postage :daumenhoch:

I sent a 20" tyre last week, had to post with parcelforce, they are very strict now at the PO, they don't accept parcels over 45cm now for recorded delivery, they have to go parcelforce. Parcelforce 24 was quoted £15.96 for a tyre ! ! ! I think Parcelforce 48 was around the £11-12 mark.
When you think you could have sent the tyre before Recorded 1st for around £6 :idiot2:

My policy these days is that anything that of a decent size (wheels frames) etc goes TNT or UPS next day,
Book the collection in the morning it gets collected from wherever yo want in the afternoon & it's there next day , not had a problem so far & it's way cheaper than royal mail or ( PARCELFARCE ) .
Never had an issue to date either I wouldn't use hermes or Yodel as the drivers tend to leave stuff outside your door where it's not safe & I've heard of loads of occasions when the parcel has been nicked as a result
Set of wheels or a Frame & Forks £10 plus as much insurance as you want to add. :daumenhoch:
