Waxintaxin:
cheap table salt will do mate

a lot of salt , i used a kilo for a seat

Sanmarcopizza:
And you need hot water. I have done loads of seats and had no probs. Bring huge pan of water to boiling temperature, but not bubbling. Add the salt ( I normally do 750gms) and add the seat for 5 minutes. I then add 2 tubbs of Dylon M.P. Dye and leave to simmer for 45 mins. You need to ensure any contact point in the pan take colour, so shift the seats position. Avoid touching the gold writing at all costs when it's hot as it will damage it. When finished, run the seat under a cold tap to set the writing. Seat is best handled by rails and a pair of pliars or similar.

Thanks.

That is a brillinat description.

do you put the seat in the pan with the bars pointing toward you, or touching the bottom of the pan ?

Sanmarcopizza:
Depends on your pan. I used to have to sit mine diagonally to get it in the pan, so tended to put the rear of the seat at the bottom, rail side down. My only contact points tended to be the underside front edge and maybe an edge either side on the underside rear. I used to just move it around a few times.

adeshere:
I will give it a go

BUT

How do i convince the misses that i should use her shiny pan !!!
