Suntour coaster onto skyway graphite ?

What about getting an 80's rear tuff with a bolt on coaster and swapping that over. Or get a rear Acorn Freestyle and swipe the coaster off that and use the Skyway flanges?

Hi just read through this and picked up on a few things. As far as I know coaster hubs used on Skyways need to be steel as shown in the replacement hub picture fitted to either a standard Tuff or a graphite. With the old rivits removed you have to twist the hub enough so that it's clear of the moulded plastic bits oinside the wheel and it should then come out, no need to remove the end plates.
Were Grapites ever available with coasters or were they specially made ?

Good luck with the build, you have to start somewhere, why not wheels !

well, IF a graphite mag has the same characteritics as a regular plastic one ...............then ................ it looks as if you should be able to get any old suntour coaster hub (from any ol tuff2) ......  "paint" it blue (anno or whatever goes..)...... and just POP IT IN YOUR GRAPHITE.

I'm no expert but wonder if graphites were aimed at racers so might not have ever been fitted with coaster hubs.
I think the freewheel hub shown above is a steel flanged one from a Tuff 2.

If you are going to do it then you need to find a really good way of re-producing the correct rivits to hold the hub in. If you don't then you might as well just use a standard tuff with a coaster already fitted.
Wonder what the guys who have already built replicas of Bob Haros bike have done ?
