Just emaild JT on the museum

Hi Jeff

I need some advice on the build i am doing, its the same as one of your bikes
the haro freestyler BMX PLUS cover
heres my thread on here
http://bmxmuseum.com/forums/viewtopic.php?id=509792

Im a member on www.radbmx.co.uk , and we have been discussing the rear wheel set up on the bike
wondering if you removed the campy hub from the rear graphite and fitted the sun tour coaster..?
or did you buy the wheel like this..? ie did skyway produce a graphite with a coaster..?
I have basically said that Bob Haro must have had the wheel modified like this..? is this correct

I hope you can help me with this part of the puzzle, and maybe future questions (hopefully not to many)

Many Thanks

Lee

...and i believe you shouldn't be afraid to send your mags to waza -- i'd rather only not count on it

Just got a reply from another museum member jedi101

Regarding the coaster brake... I have two sets of white Tuffs in my Master build thread. The set with the metal flanges front, and rear, (84's used on the 85 Haro catalogue and Freestyler Magazine test bike) have the rear freewheel hub with Suntour freewheel. The other is a NOS 85 set with the rear Suntour coaster brake. It is fitted with a ACS Freecoaster Freewheel, in place of the fixed 16 tooth cog. The ACS Freecoaster allows you to have the option of a freewheel with just the turn of two screws. I don't believe the ACS freecoaster was available until the mid 80's, so it would never have been used on the Freestylers. The Graphite Tuffs used on Bob Haro's bikes were strictly Suntour coaster brake rear hubs, with no freewheel, and gold front Campy hubs. I hope this information helps. Please keep me posted on your progress, and I will follow your thread as well.

So basically Lee, you need a first gen front campy hubbed graphite Tuff and a rear Suntour coaster hubbed graphite Tuff  :)

So you will have to buy 2 sets of grahites then  :D  ;D
