WHAT DO THE NUMBERS MEAN ON A IZUMI CHAIN ?

Just wondered? numbers printed on them are like 3C etc do they relate to year of production? any links(pardon the pun) on this  :-\

They make a lot of chains. Part codes maybe?  :-\

ok I have found out 3 would be-1983 and the c would be march so on so forth  :daumenhoch:
