grip softening

Hiya fellas, got a pair of mushroom style grips with a frameset recently, they're teal coloured soft rubber in the middle & clear plastic on each end. The clear plastic has hardened & discolored over the years any ideas on how I could soften the ends without fookin them ???

I doubt you will get rid of the discolouring but autoglym vinyl care is meant to be good as a softener according to Bert  :daumenhoch:

Might be talking bollocks now but i watched a progamme recently where they were using dry cleaning fluid to restore old cinema film tape.
If you can get some it may be worth a stab..... just keep it indoors  :LolLolLolLol:

would've taken the colour too I bet....
got some siliconey stuff think I'll bung em in that......

This stuff....... Used it on a couple of sets of tyre sidewalls and it works a treat without making everything too shiny as long as you buff it up when you're done.  Might be worth a try?

I've put them in boiling water. Makes them nice and soft. (also done this to remove them off old bars)
Then sprayed Auto Glym on them as said above. Leave it to soak in.  :daumenhoch:
